A journey beyond the stars: Our unforgettable adventure at NASA

In November 2023, fourteen of our high school students immersed themselves in a unique adventure at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Florida. For a week, our students embarked on an educational adventure that combined exploration, technology and a pinch of entertainment.

The first two days at Kennedy Space Center were extraordinary. The students entered, touring the enormous complex on a bus trip that discovered every corner of the center. From historic launch pads to the iconic space shuttle Atlantis, every facet of NASA's epicenter became a stage for their learning.

One of the highlights of the trip was the programming course, in which students had to program robots to execute precise maneuvers. Working in teams, they competed in a friendly manner, pitting their programmed creations against each other. At the end of this interactive experience they were given personalized certificates of participation, a testament to their new programming skills. Best of all, a distinguished guest speaker, a former NASA astronaut, enthralled them with stories of space exploration, inspiring the next generation of cosmic dreamers.

Although the days at NASA were filled with scientific wonders, the afternoons provided a change of pace. On the second day, students explored the charming Disney Springs, a shopping and entertainment center, while on the third day they enjoyed an exciting session at Orlando's iFLY Indoor Skydiving, pushing the limits of gravity in a controlled environment.

Day four ramped up the excitement with a visit to Universal Studios Orlando, where students spent an entire day immersed in the magic of movie adventures. Day five took them to the enchanting kingdom of Disney's Hollywood Studios, where they experienced some of the most iconic movie sets and thrilling attractions.

To add a touch of medieval charm, students spent an evening at Medieval Times, where they enjoyed a feast fit for knights and nobles while being entertained by a live jousting and chivalry show.

Among so much excitement and entertainment, the trip also served as an incredible learning experience. The students improved their teamwork and problem-solving skills thanks to the programming competition. They better understood space exploration and technology and witnessed first-hand humanity's progress in space travel.

The journey was not limited to science and technology, but encompassed a wide range of experiences, from the glamor of Hollywood to the magical kingdoms of Disney. Interaction with people from different parts of the world added a cultural dimension, fostering a global perspective among our students.

Above all, the trip served as an English language immersion experience. Our students were motivated to practice and improve their language skills in an English-speaking country, breaking down language barriers and connecting with others on a global level.

As the final chapter of our trip unfolded, the students carried more than just memories; They carried memories not only of a trip, but of an odyssey in which science, technology, entertainment and cultural exchange merged to create an unforgettable experience of learning and adventure.

The trip to NASA in November 2023 will be forever etched in the hearts and minds of these fourteen young explorers, igniting a flame of curiosity and ambition that will undoubtedly shape their future.
