We are pleased to share with you that our long-awaited TJ Film Fest 2024 took place on May 30. This year, the festival was spearheaded by our IB student, Karla, who played an important role in the organization and success of the event.
During the festival, the short films made by our Upper School students were presented: Lipstick on a Pig, 17, Mosca and Dimitte Absentia. Each of these works reflected the dedication and creativity of our students, who They surprised us with their talent and commitment.
The event included the presentation of awards in various categories, such asMakeup, Production Design, Special Effects, Editing, Sound Design, Musicalization, Script, Photography, Acting and Best Director. The awardees received their awards from teachers and alumni who are currently involved in the film industry, which added a special and emotional touch to the ceremony.
In addition to the works in competition, two short films were presented out of competition that were also highly applauded. The first, Loop, is a short film with which ITJ Santa Monica participated in the ISP Filmmakers, a global event with ISP schools around the world, and with which it won the award for best edition. The second, Ellipsis, was presented by our organizer, Karla, and addresses the topic of growth and the need to face life regardless of the fear we may feel.
Without a doubt, the TJ Film Fest 2024 was a memorable event that highlighted the impressive talent of our students. We thank all the participants, organizers, teachers and alumni who made this celebration of cinematic art possible. We look forward to the next festival and the future projects of our young filmmakers.
