This event, which has become a long-awaited tradition, once again surprised us with the talent and creativity of our high school students. The students worked on the artistic creation of their hats, collaborating closely with teachers from different areas to present an impressive spectacle.
This year we support a noble cause: a collection of recycled paper to benefit Christel House de México A.C. This association is dedicated to supporting children and young people in poverty, providing them with education so that they can become self-sufficient and responsible individuals in their society.
Under the guidance of the Art teacher, the students designed and made unique and creative hats. With the Music teacher, they created musical mixes that complemented their presentations, while with the Physical Education teachers, they developed well-synchronized choreographies. The Tutors supported teamwork and the development of leadership skills, ensuring that each group functioned as a great team.
These efforts were evaluated by a panel of internal and external juries, including some alumni and representatives of UDLAP, UP and the University of Communication. Their rigorous and professional evaluation highlighted the importance and level of competition of the ITJ Santa Monica Hat Fest.
The topics covered this year were varied and exciting, including: Inside Out, Lego, 100 Years of Disney, NFL, Spider Man, Star Wars, Lilo and Stitch, Madagascar, Despicable Me, Looney Toons, World Cups, among others.
During the event, special recognitions were given to those students who excelled in artistic creation. We want to highlight the student Scarlett, who has won the award for the best hat of the generation during her three years of high school. On the other hand, a special mention was made to the student Gael, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his time in high school, winning the Master of his generation for 3 years in a row.
At the end of the event, Master prizes were awarded to the groups with the most points obtained in all areas per generation. The winners were:
– 7°B: “Intensamente”
– 8°D: “Lego”
– 9°B: “Mario Bross”
Additionally, the Big Master award was awarded to the entire high school group that earned the most points. The winning group was 9B with their song “Mario Bros.”
During the presentation, we had the participation of the high school students who played some songs and the after school students, who did a special K-pop performance.
This event has left great learning in our high school students, promoting creativity, teamwork and leadership. We thank all the teachers, juries and families who supported and contributed to making Hat Fest 2024 a resounding success.
