The Fashion Fest returns to the ITJ Santa Monica

On February 9, ITJ Santa Monica witnessed an event that marked the school's recent history: the return of the Fashion Fest, an emblematic event that had been absent for five years. The initiative, which resurfaces with renewed impetus, was possible thanks to the work and enthusiasm of two outstanding high school students, Ximena and Constanza.

The Fashion Fest not only returned with strength, but exceeded expectations by bringing together 140 middle and high school students, who played fundamental roles in the event as designers, models, musicians, drivers and staff. audio, video and support in general.

More than 500 people gathered to witness the creativity and talent of the young people, who presented dazzling outfits inspired by the theme of biodiversity.

The task of evaluating the designs was not easy, and was carried out by representatives of renowned educational institutions such as the Universidad Anáhuac, the Universidad Iberoamericana, the Universidad Panamericana (UP) and the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP), who also sponsored the prizes for the winners.

At the top of the Fashion Fest, students from different generations stood out, demonstrating exceptional talent and a commitment to creativity and innovation. Among the most notable recognitions is the award for Best Design, awarded to Ivana de León and Natalie Fonseca, 7th grade students, for their creation “Clean Ocean”. This design captured the attention and recognition of the jury for its originality and inspiring message.

In the Best Model category, the award went to Santiago Sánchez, a 10th grade student, whose runway and stage presence captivated the audience and jury alike.

Finally, the Master award was presented to the team that accumulated the most points and stood out for its excellence in all aspects of the event. This honor went to the team made up of Sofía De La Torre, Montserrat De La Torre and Isabella Vega, with their design“Zero Waste”. Their innovative approach and commitment to sustainability left a great impression on the Fashion Fest, highlighting its vision and masterful execution.

These students demonstrate that creativity, passion and commitment can transcend generational barriers and leave a mark in the world of fashion and artistic expression.

The Fashion Fest is not only governed as a relevant event in the student environment, but also leaves an invaluable mark on our community. The experience lived and the learning acquired mark the personal and professional development of our students.

With excitement we await the Fashion Fest 2025, which promises to exceed all expectations and establish itself as a benchmark in the field of fashion and youth creativity.
