At ITJ Querétaro, we promote environmental education and healthy habits in a fun and creative way. Each semester, students from the ITJ Green Team participate in practical workshops where we learn useful and entertaining information for everyday life.
On this occasion, we present part of the non-alcoholic cocktail workshop (non-alcoholic drinks), where we learned to prepare refreshing, healthy drinks suitable for all ages, encouraging creativity and awareness about healthy eating.
Why choose mocktails?
Mocktails are an excellent option in several situations:
- To enjoy refreshing and nutritious drinks at any time of day.
- As a creative and fun activity for the whole family or school community.
- To encourage children and young people's interest in preparing healthy foods and drinks.
- To promote conscious consumption habits and body care from an early age.

The three components of a good mocktail
Durante el taller, los estudiantes aprendieron que toda bebida se compone de tres elementos esenciales:
- The base: provides aroma, flavor, and color (20–30% of the volume). Example: fruit juices or extracts.
- Body: Influences texture and complements aromas. Example: kombucha tea, mineral water.
- Flavor: The special touch that harmonizes the blend. Example: aromatic herbs, spices, or natural sweeteners.
In addition, the basic utensils for preparing mocktails were shown, such as a glass, juicer and shaker, as well as natural sweeteners: honey, maple syrup, dates, piloncillo or coconut sugar.
