For years, mathematics has been labeled as a tedious, intimidating and unattractive subject for students. However, what would happen if the traditional approach to calculation was left aside? If learning moved away from mechanical memorization and was transformed into a motivating experience? With these questions in mind, Innovamat was born in 2017, an educational proposal that seeks to revolutionize the teaching of mathematics and bring more meaningful and engaging learning to the classroom.
A New Way of Teaching and Learning
Innovamat is based on a pedagogical model that combines two types of essential practices:
- Productive Practice: Focuses on open-ended, contextualized questions, posed in a problem-solving environment that is meaningful to students. This approach promotes critical thinking, logical reasoning, and creativity.
- Reproductive Practice: It consists of the systematization and repetition of processes to strengthen specific skills.
A highlight of Innovamat is how it integrates technology to enrich reproductive practice. One day a week, students work with a gamified app that adapts exercises to each user’s level. This app not only allows for interactive and personalized practice, but also provides teaching aids designed to optimize learning.
Innovamat in Our School Community
At our school, primary school students use Innovamat as part of their daily maths learning. Thanks to this tool, they are not only reinforcing their skills, but they are also enjoying the process. The combination of interactive dynamics, gamified challenges and the adaptive approach allows them to learn in a meaningful way, developing their confidence and enthusiasm for this key subject.

Real-Time Data for Teachers
Innovation doesn’t stop in the classroom: Innovamat’s platform generates detailed weekly reports on each student’s progress. These reports include personalized recommendations for teachers, allowing them to adjust their strategies and provide more effective support to their students.
A model in constant evolution
Innovamat's approach is not static. The proposal is continuously developed thanks to feedback from teachers who implement it and is adjusted according to advances in educational research on mathematics teaching.
Innovamat not only seeks to improve mathematical skills, but also to transform the way students perceive this discipline. It is a commitment to dynamic, inclusive and motivating learning that is making a difference in classrooms.
And you, are you ready to see mathematics from a new perspective?
