Since our opening in 2002, talks and conferences guided by experts in different fields have been an essential part of the learning we offer to our students and community. Multiple talented people from around the world have visited us at the ITJ Campus Palomar to share the most valuable of their stories and learnings, and Chris Bertish was no exception.
In January of this year, we opened our doors to learn about a story brought from the Atlantic Ocean. “Achieve The Impossible – The Mavericks Big Wave Story”, where we bring together our parents, teachers and students to listen to the great adventure of Chris Bertish, South African surfer, international speaker, Big Wave Surfing Mavericks champion and holder of the Guinness World Record for Stand-Up Paddleboarding.
Chris shared with us what it was like to row across the Atlantic Ocean for 93 days, but above all, he told us about his mental preparation to achieve goals that seem impossible, but with discipline, training and confidence, they can be achieved and become achievable possibilities; becausein every “impossible” there is an“im-possible”if you believe so.
Value talks like this are important to us at the ITJ Campus Palomar, since they share our idea that learning exists in all experiences and we have to know the world to become successful, creative and aware leaders of our environment.
